On the palate, this is a medium to full-bodied, intense, juicy, well-concentrated and pretty charming Freundstück Riesling Grosses Gewächs with a silky-elegant texture and refined acidity.

Peach and grapefruit have their say, before nuances of aniseed and toast spell a return to the oaky theme. Quite well-balanced and great if you like oak on your Riesling.

The 2017 Freundstück "GG" is clear, deep, fresh and pure on the complex and elegant nose, with classic sandstone and coolish (lemon) fruit aromas.
Pungent green herbs and seed-inflected pear inform a penetrating nose and a glossy, plush but generously juicy palate. The finish offers superb length.

A full-bodied, pretty mature, rich and creamy Riesling that is intense and provided with a firm and still gripping tannin structure and a powerful finish with lots of ripe stone fruit.
The 2018 is a great and age-worthy Riesling with lingering salinity and mineral grip. Fabulous!

Deep, ripe and very elegant on the flinty nose. Rich and creamy on the palate, this is a full-bodied, ripe, round, lush and textured Kirchenstück with sustainable power and fine tannins. Needs time.

Musky narcissus and iris but also sweetly aromatic lily rise from the glass. Any influence of the relatively young wood to which this was exposed seems only to reinforce the flavors and textures inherent in Riesling from this great site. The floral perfume persists as inner-mouth profusion, musky and bitter-sweet. Silken, yet animatingly juicy in its evocation of white peach, and in no way heavy, the wine finishes with remarkable persistence of an animal-herbal-mineral meld that is fascinatingly complex and mouthwateringly saline...
Composition of sweet-bitter fruit, juicy peach being complemented by a touch of grated orange peel. Minerality also gets a fair chance to express itself with the typical Pfalz earthiness.
